Title: Letter about Robert Crawford's Post in the Office of the Colonial Secretary

Author(s): Campbell, J I

Sydney
8 Decr 1821

Dear Sir

I have to acknowledge the receipt
of your letter of a few days back, and very
sincerely congratulate you on the appointment
you have received in the
Office of the Colonial Secretary, in which
I have no doubt you will experience
every satisfaction and comfort (independent
of the pecuniary advantages)
which could poſsibly result from
the most amiable and gentlemanly
Robt Crawford Esqr.

dispositions, with which, the worthy
Secretary is most fully endowed.
Under such circumstances, it
would be illiberal in me to wish
to have your Services in my department,
however much I may regret
losing the aſsistance of a Gentleman
of whom I had been [led] to think
so favourably from the recommendation
of our mutual friend Major [¿]

I am Dear Sir
Yours very truly
J. I. Campbell
